Interview Trainings Consolidator Grants

The interview is an important part of the ERC evaluation process. Here you can find out how the NCP ERC can support you with this part of the interview.

In the foreground, you can see the back of a female trainer. She is looking at the participants – a group of people varying in gender which can be seen blurred in the background.

The Interview is a crucial part of the ERC evaluation procedure. The National Contact Point ERC (NCP ERC) organises interview trainings for Consolidator Grant Interview candidates. The NCP ERC will provide trainings for applicants of all three domains (PE, LS und SH).

The NCP ERC Interview Training

1.Virtual Interview Training – Part I

There will be a general information webinar (Part I) for all candidates. Here, a professional coach will provide general tips and guidance for the online interview process. In addition, you will receive information on the state of evaluation and statistical basics. After a practical report from a successful grantee, you will have the opportunity to ask questions. The number of participants for the general training is not limited.

2.Virtual Interview Training – Part II (limited number of participants)

We offer a total of 10 small group training sessions simulating the ERC interview. Each candidate has about 30 minutes to conduct their presentation according to the respective panel's guidelines and to engage in a brief Q&A session. Within the 30 minutes, feedback is provided by the trainer, the ERC NCP colleagues, and other participating candidates who act as a mock panel during the Q&A simulation. The number of participants is limited to 6 per training session. Participants should have attended the general information webinar (Part I).

If you already have access to individual coaching elsewhere, we kindly ask you to make use of this possibility and to keep the NCP ERC training free for colleagues who do not have this opportunity.

All trainings are conducted online and in English. Participation in the trainings is free of charge. Like the ERC interviews, the DLR PT trainings are conducted via Webex. KoWi trainings are held via Zoom.

Registration for the training sessions is on a first-come, first-served basis. Once registration opens, you will find the links to sign up at the bottom of this page.

Registration opens on July 15th, 2024 at 10 am. You will find the registration links here on the website.

Important information for registering for DLR-PT training sessions

DLR PT uses Invitario for its registration process. To complete registration, you must upload two documents (acceptable formats: pdf, ppt, doc, docx, jpg):

  • The B1 part of your ERC application, and
  • Your interview invitation

Please also provide Annex I of the interviewinvitation. Although not required for registration, we ask you to upload it as soon as you have received the annex. Use the personal access link provided to upload Annex I and confirm by selecting "register/save." Annex I is the part of the interview invitation sent a few weeks after the initial invitation. It contains all panel-specific guidelines.

Although not mandatory, it is helpful for a comprehensive review if you also upload:

  • Your draft presentation for the interview (according to panel guidelines).

The registration page will remain open until the training sessions start. We request that you upload documents in advance to allow time for review.

Each candidate is allowed to register for only one session; you register with a personal email address. This email address identifies you in the registration system. Multiple registrations using the same email address are not possible; If you attempt to register for additional sessions, it will overwrite your existing registration.

After registration, you'll receive a confirmation of registration and your request to participate. We will verify if the required documents were uploaded and send notifications about two to three business days after your registration. This notification will contain either a confirmed spot, placement on the waiting list, or the information that the trainings session was already fully booked at the time you registered. Please note that being on the waiting list does not guarantee a spot in the training; if a slot becomes available, you will be notified again.

The training sessions are usually fully booked in a short period of time. Significantly overbooked dates are no longer available on Invitario. If you can't find your preferred date on Invitario, it is already overbooked. If other dates are still available, you can choose an alternative. Please note that registering does not guarantee a spot in a training. You will receive a notification from us within a few days.

You can deregister using the personal access link provided. Use the link and confirm deregistration by selecting the "deregister" button at the bottom. The ERC NCP reserves the right to deny training to candidates who do not meet the stated criteria or fail to provide complete documentation (especially Annex I) by the training day.

The NCP ERC reserves the right to deny admission to the training to candidates who do not meet the aforementioned criteria or who have not submitted complete documentation (especially Annex I).
